This is the largest participation of choirs from the whole of Greece and Thessaloniki. The 7
th Festival of Children’s – Youth Choirs, on a truly topical theme (
Freedom) and the golden voice of Barbara Hendricks, is going to make a gift of a whole week in four evenings of choral music. Children’s choirs, Youth choirs, School and Music School choirs are going to perform, while the Final Concert includes the orchestral première of the choral work
Deisis [Prayer] by Yorgos - Emmanuel Lazaridis, conducted by Charis Eliadis with the Symphony Orchestra of the Municipality of Thessaloniki, and the unique interpretation of gospel and spiritual songs by Hendricks performing together with Youth Choirs under Choir Mistress Marie Bejstam.
