THE STARS OF MUSIC & FILM: A TRIBUTE TO DANNY KAYE
T.C.H. IN CO-OPERATION WITH ''THESSALONIKI FRIENDS OF MUSIC ASSOCIATION''
Lefteris Kongalidis will present a tribute to the top comedian Danny Kaye on Monday, 11 April, featuring material from the journalist’s personal archive. Extracts from 15 of his films and other sources, with a total duration of 70 minutes, will be projected on large screen.
For 20 years, Danny Kaye was the biggest comic talent in Hollywood. His unique style was popular with all ages, as he combined dancing and singing with hilarious situations. He became famous for his tongue-twisters- usually gibberish - most of which were written by his wife, Sylvia Fine, who also composed the appropriate music.
His dedication to the children of the world led to his appointment as a UNESCO Ambassador. In 1954, he received an Academy Honorary Award for his unique talents, his service to the Academy, the motion picture industry, and the American people.
