The Miraculous Mandarin is an exquisite dance pantomime composed by Bartók based on Menyhért Lengyel’s Pantomime Grotesque, which thrilled him so much that it became his inspiration to compose one of the greatest works of the previous century. In the first part, the charismatic Greek-Albanian Jonian Ilias Kadesha performs two works with evident gypsy references.
