Prague Symphony Orchestra is the official orchestra of the Czech capital. It is a top tier musical ensemble that is internationally renowned. It contributes decisively to Prague’s concert scene, while at the same time promoting Czech culture abroad. The orchestra was founded in 1934 and is often referred to by the abbreviation FOK (Film - Opera - Concert) - the initials of the fields in which the ensemble initially focused. In 2015 Pietari Inkinen took over the position of Chief Conductor and Jose Cura became the Artist in Residence.
