INTERNATIONAL RADIATION SYMPOSIUM 2022

Διοργάνωση: LAP (AUTH) & IRC (IAMAS)
Dear friends and colleagues,

The quadrennial International Radiation Symposium 2022 was successfully completed after two postponements since 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. IRS 2022 was jointly organized in Thessaloniki (Greece) from 4 to 8 July 2022 by the Laboratory of Atmospheric Physics (LAP) of the Aristotle Univeristy of Thessaloniki (AUTH) and the International Radiation Commission (IRC) of the International Association of Meteorology and Atmosheric Sciences (IAMAS). The symposium will be hosted in the Concert Hall Convetion and Cultural Center. Over 360 scientists from 29 countries participated physically and presented their scientific achievements in over 250 oral and 150 poster presentations.
IRS 2022 provided a comprehensive international forum for presenting and discussing recet research achievements and technological developments on solar and atmospheric radiation covering a wide spectrum of related topics. Internationally, recognized senior scientists, young scientists, and students had a unique opportunity to discuss hot scientific issues, exchange new ideas and establish far-reaching collaborations.
Participants of IRS 2022 had the opportunity to visit historical monuments and cultural establishments in Thessaloniki and in other locations in Northern Greece, to enjoy short escapes for swimming at the magnificent beaches of Halkidiki and to taste the local gastronomy and wines at the numerous small tavers.

We thank all participants for joining the symposium under such difficult condiitions!

On behalf of the Organizing Committee,

Alkis Bais
IRS 2022 Chair
