Fani Vovoni

Baroque violin
Fani Vovoni was born in Athens. After finishing her studies with Helfried Fister in Klagenfurt in 2001, she went on to study at the Vienna University of Music in the class of Ernst Kovacic, from which she graduated with honors in March 2007. During her studies, she also attended a class in Baroque violin lectured by Hiro Kurosaki, later studied in Mozarteum Salzburg with Reinhard Goebel. One of the significant events in her early career was her participation in the European Union Youth Orchestra (2000) and European Union Baroque Orchestra in 2004 where she intensively explored so-called “ancient music”.
Focus in early and contemporary music and issues of dramaturgy in musical performance.
She has given concerts in ensemble formations at numerous festivals around Europe, Αsia, North and South America focusing in early and contemporary music, with groups  such as the Klangforum Wien, Camerata Salzburg, Barruco, Concerto Stella Matutina, Il Pomo d´Oro, Black Page Orchestra, Cappela Leopoldina, Ensemble Prisma, such as the Greece-based early music groups Latinitas Nostra and Ex Silentio.
A recent exciting collaboration was in 2018 with stage director Savvas Stroumbos and soprano Fanie Antonelou giving a series of performances of the Kafka Fragments by György Kurtag in Attis theater, Athens.
