Sabine Weyer

Sabine Weyer was born on May 8th 1988 in Luxembourg. She starts her piano studies at the age of 7 at the Conservatory of her home town, where in 2007 she receives the Diplôme Supérieur. In May 2007 she gains the 1. “Prix de Perfectionnement” at the unanimity of the jury members in the CNR of Metz (France). Until June 2012 she was studying with Alexandar Madzar at the Flemish Conservatory in Brussels for the Masters Degree which she obtained with distinction. In June 2013, she got the Postgraduate Degree in the classe of A. Madzar with distinction.
Sabine participated in various masterclasses, working with famous professors such as Françoise Buffet-Arsenijevc, Andras Schiff and Vassil Guenov with whom she studied regularly until 2007.
During  summer 2008, she was admitted to participate in a masterclass for young soloists in Germany, with the known pedagogue Karl-Heinz Kaemmerling.
In 2010 she was selected, with only 7 other students from around the world, to participate in “The London Masterclasses” until the guidance of the famous British pianist and teacher Norma Fisher.
In July 2011 she was invited to participate in the “Internationale Klavierakademie Freiburg” with Jura Margulis and Paul-Badura Skoda.
Recently, Sabine was selected to participate in a masterclass with the famous Russian pianist Oxana Yablonskaya in Kiev, Ukraine (February 2013), where she performed Beethoven’s 4th Piano Concerto with orchestra.
Until September 2013, she was following the advices of the world-famous pianist Aquiles Delle Vigne, having been admitted to his private school in Coimbra, Portugal (Accademia Delle Vigne, a school with the aim of promoting young talents on the edge to an international career).
Sabine is an acclaimed soloist, having performed all over the globe, mainly in Europe but also in China (Shanghai and Pekin) and Russia.
Sabine published her first commercial CD in Autumn 2015, with music by Rameau and Debussy, CD published by the Austrian label “Paladino” and recorded in the world-famous Konzerthaus in Vienna. The CD has been released in more than 60 countries over the world. An official release concert took place at the Philharmonie in Luxembourg in October 2015. Thereafter, the CD was presented in all major concert halls in Europe, as the Philharmonie Berlin, Salle Cortot in Paris etc…
In March 2015, Sabine won the 1. Prize in the “Grand Prize Virtuoso” Competition and performed in the Royal Albert Hall on March 13th.
The pianist has just released a new CD with concertos for harpsichord and strings by J.S.Bach and the double concerto for violin and piano by F.Mendelssohn, together with the Camerata Berlin on the German label “Ars Produktion”. This CD is praised internationally by the specialised press.
A CD called Bach to the future, with transcriptions by famous works by Bach, will be released on the market at the beginning of December 2017.
Sabine Weyer is teaching the piano at the Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg since September 2015. As an acclaimed pedagogue, she has recently been invited to give a public masterclass for students at Beijing Normal University in October 2016.
Since November 2017 she is running her own music festival in Luxembourg.
