Jung Eun Lee

Violin
Jung Eun Lee studied violin at the Yonsei University getting her BA in Music with a full scholarship from the same University. She continued her studying at the renowned Rimsky Korsakov State Conservatory of St Petersburg in Russia (aspirantura) under Prof. Kasarina, Concertmaster of the Kirov Orchestra. Further studies of specialization in violin led her to the Hochschule für Musik in Trossingen, Germany under Prof. Federico Agostini, Concertmaster of the Chamber Orchestra I Musici and in chamber music under the Professors: Prof. James Creitz, Prof. Harada of the Tokyo String Quartet, the famous american pianist Prof. Anthony Spiri and the Solo Cellist of the Ensemble Intercontemporain Prof. Jean-Guihen Queyeras.
She attended Master Classes with Prof.J. Fournier in Mozarteum, Salzburg.
Jung Eun Lee was awarded in the following competitions:
1983, 1st prize in the Wol Eum National Competition,
1984, 1st prize in the Yopk young National Competition,
1985 and 1987 1st prizes in the Chamber Music Competition of Yewon School.
In 1985 Jung Eun Lee was honored with the Citizen’s Prize in Arts from the Mayor of Seoul.
In 1983 and 1984 was Concertmaster of the Seoul State Youth Philharmonic Orchestra. In 1986 and 1987 was Concertmaster of the Orchestra Jeunesses Musical having a concert tour in the United States of America and in Europe.
Jung Eun Lee participated as a soloist in Aberdeen International Youth Festival, Hermitage Museum, Alexander Theatre, Pushkin Museum, Press Center in St.Petersburg, Luzern International Contemporary Music Festival, Glazunov Concert Hall, International Chamber Music Festival of Marseilles, Podium Trossingen, Megaron Thessaloniki, Megaron Athens, Dimitria Festival, Musikverein Vienna, Cyclades International Music Festival etc.
She played as a soloist with orchestras such as: Seoul State Philharmonic Orchestra, Yonsei Chamber Orchestra, Ukraine Philharmonic Orchestra, Orpheus Soloists, Schaffhausen Kammerorchester etc and has cooperated with famous conductors such as: Sir Neville Marriner, Christopher Hogwood, Christopher Warren Green, Phillipe Entremont etc.
In 2005 cooperated with the distinguished Guitarist K. Kotsiolis during the Cyclades Festival.
For several years Jung Eun Lee was Assistant of the violin Professor Kim Kyoung Min in private. For the last four years she is teaching violin at the Conservatory of the City of Drama and today at the Sinchrono Conservatory of Thessaloniki and the Conservatoire of Thessaloniki.
She is regularly giving Master Classes at the Conservatoire of Nothern Greece.
Jung Eun Lee has recorded the Concerto for Violin and Orchestra Nr.3 by W.A.Mozart with Seoul State Philharmonic Orchestra for the MBC broadcasting station.
She has been member of the Konstanz Philharmonic Orchestra, the RIAS in Berlin, the Basel Symphony Orchestra.
Jung Eun Lee is member of Kamerata Orchestra of the Friends of Music- Athens under the baton of Sir Neville Marriner and the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra with which she recorded works from N.Skalkottas and other Greek Contemporary Composers for the labels Naxos and BIS. Since 2003 she is Concertmaster of the Chamber Orchestra Orpheus Soloists.
