IN COOPERATION WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF MUSICAL SCIENCE & ART OF THE UNIVERSITY OF MACEDONIA
The great impressionist composer Claude Debussy (1862 - 1918) is recognised around the world 100 years after his death. The magic and volume of his piano compositions ranks him among the greatest piano composers. Today, his work is an indispensable part of advanced piano studies, especially the French repertoire.
This programme is performed by students of the Piano Specialisation in the classes of Professor Uwe Matschke and Associate Professor Igor Petrin. It includes works spanning a long period, starting with the popular Petite Suite for piano, four hands (1889), and ending with a selection of the renowned Preludes (1913).
