Elīna Garanča and Roberto Alagna join forces in the biblical epic of Saint-Saëns, Samson and Delilah. The last time the operatic duet had appeared together was in the electrifying performance of Bizet’s Carmen in 2010.
Laurent Naouri co-stars in the role of the High Priest, Elchin Azizov in the role of the Philistine King Abimelech, and Dmitry Belosselskiy as the Elderly Hebrew.
Darko Tresnjak, who won a Tony Award for directing A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder, makes his début on the Met stage, directing this opera for the first time after twenty years. Conducted by Sir Mark Elder.
