The season commences with the production of the bel canto tragedy, Norma by Bellini, with the exceptional Sondra Radvanovsky in the main part. Her interpretation of the role was a triumph at the Met in 2013, as well as in a series of appearances at the Canadian Opera Company, the San Francisco Opera, the Bavarian State Opera, Gran Teatre Del Liceu and the Lyric Opera of Chicago, a fact that has made her one of the top performers of the starring role in the world. Co-starring  Joyce Didonato as Adalgisa, Norma’s companion and rival, Joseph Calleja as Pollione and Matthew Rose as Oroveso. Conducted by Carlo Rizzi and directed by Sir David McVicar.
