STARS OF MUSIC & CINEMA: HOMAGE TO ELVIS PRESLEY

IN COOPERATION WITH THE “FRIENDS OF MUSIC OF THESSALONIKI”
“Aloha From Hawaii” is probably the most important concert in Elvis Presley’s career; it was held on 14 January 1973 in Hawaii and will be presented in full on the big screen at Thessaloniki Concert Hall on Monday 24 April.
The programme will be introduced by journalist Lefteris Kongalidis, who will refer to the background of the concert, which was the first satellite broadcast around the globe, watched by one billion viewers.
The artist was then 38 years old, at full vocal maturity and at the peak of his popularity.
The programme lasts for 85 minutes and the songs performed include: I Can’t Stop Loving you, Hound Dog, Blue Hawaii, What Now my Love, Fever, Welcome to my World, Suspicious Minds, Long Tall Sally, See See Rider, My Way, Something.
Three of Presley’s films were shot in Hawaii: Blue Hawaii, Girls, Girls, Girls and Paradise, Hawaiian Style.
