UN-LABEL SYMPOSIUM: PERFORMING ARTS UN-LABELED

In the arts, the challenge is to be yourself, to be unique. Your diversity constitutes the identity and this, in turn, creates the terms of your participation. The Un-Label symposium will create the terms for an interactive and a fruitful discussion between representatives of international artistic and cultural organizations, organizations of people with disabilities, the academic community and the civil society with an emphasis on the production of art by groups of artists with and without disabilities, on the equal participation of people with disabilities in culture, the limits of integration and the potential of performing arts to become the vehicle of social change.
Within the framework of the symposium will be implemented three (3) workshops coordinated by : (a) Stine Nilsen (Candoco Dance Company - London), (b) Dodzi Dougban and Michaela Kosiecovà (Un-Label) and (c) Costas Lamproulis (SMouTh, Un-Label), and a (1) round table that explores the relationship between policy and inclusive artistic practices.
The symposium will be supported by sign language and Greek to English / English to Greek interpretation and the venue is accessible for wheelchairs.
