WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE: ANTONY & CLEOPATRA (recorded)

TCH WITH THE SUPPORT OF THE ANTENNA GROUP

Recorded broadcast from the Olivier Theatre in London
With Greek subtitles
Duration: 205 minutes with 1 intermission
Ralph Fiennes and Sophie Okonedo play Shakespeare’s famous fated couple in his great tragedy of politics, passion and power. Stage Designer Hildegard Bechtler made full use of the revolving stage at the Olivier Theatre, creating a parallel historical universe. Her Egypt looks like a luxury hotel and a Rome with marble boardrooms reminiscent of a museum.
This excellent production by the National Theatre of Great Britain received rave reviews and wowed audiences in the United Kingdom. Directed by Simon Godwin (Τwelfth night, Man and Superman, The Beaux’ Stratagem).
