ACADEMICA ATHENS ORCHESTRA

TCH

Ν. Athineos: Serenade for Strings
A. Schnittke: Concerto for piano and strings
A. Dvořák: Serenade for Strings in M major Op. 22
The Academica Athens Orchestra was established in summer 2013. Its first public performance in Athens was on 28 November of the same year in the concert hall of the Athens Conservatory where it is housed.
Its founder and concertmaster is Odysseas Korelis and its principal conductor maestro Nikos Athineos.
In a very short time, the Academica Athens Orchestra attracted a loyal audience, with a dynamic presence in the musical and cultural life of Athens. It gradually started performing outside the Conservatory too and is now widely recognised and acclaimed. Appearances include the Athens Concert Hall and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre. In December 2017 it was included in a NSRF programme called ''Musical pathways of Attica'' performing a number of concerts for the general public of the Attica Region.
This is the Academica Athens Orchestra's first concert at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall.
