The play
The play is about a little child’s life. A boy who lives with his parents. He tries to help his father, the shepherd and wants to prove that he can manage as well as adults do. But he is still a child and he remains a chid that sometimes misbehaves and annoy the olders. He remains a child that still uses a binky. But the time comes when the child manages to deal with the big grey wolf and with an unexpected and funny way he wins. The wolf «transforms» into a sheep (this could be the third title of the show) and the young hero gains his father’s trust! The hero’s recognition is a recognition for every small viewer of the show through the psychological process of identification with the hero and the final catharsis.
The show has no words, only sounds and some words and it is based on sounds, voices and musical instruments.
Τhe group
«ΝISTA» was created in 2007 by Dimitra Zanza and Panagiotis Koulouris. The group was named NISTA by their two children Nina and Stathis. Dimitra and Panagiotis are both kindergarden teachers. They have been working in public kindergardens since 2001. Puppetry has been in their lives for more than 20 years. Not only do they give puppet performances but they also teach people how to manufacture puppets. In their performances they mostly use hand-puppets and muppets.
They believe that puppet theatre, or else “animate and give life to lifeless objects” is a real creative adventure that concern children and adults, too!
