A TRIBUTE TO THE ART OF PIANO

ELEFTHERIOS MISIRGIS: A TRIBUTE TO FRANZ LISZT

T.C.H.

On the occasion of the 130th anniversary of his death
Franz Liszt was, without question, one of the most prophetic composers of the 19th century. A complex personality, a magician and unparalleled acrobat of the keyboard, Liszt enchanted and inspired his contemporaries and later composers and pianists, paving new ways of creative expression. The recital includes works with unique music that are highly demanding, often challenging even for the most accomplished virtuosos, through which different aspects of the composer’s creative career are presented.
Eleftherios Misirgis is one of the top performers of his generation, with numerous performances under his belt. A virtuoso pianist, composer and improviser, he has won plaudits from critics and the public.
Acclaimed musicologist and music critic Konstantinos P. Karabelas-Sgourdas, an expert researcher of the composer’s own manuscripts, will read known and unknown texts written by the composer and his prominent peers. Finally, he will present pictures and valuable manuscripts to be shown during the tribute.
The recital will be held under the auspices of the 'Gina Bachauer International Music Association'.
