PIANO MASTERCLASS WITH MARIA ASTERIADOU

T.C.H.
Megaron concert Hall is pleased to announce a three-day intensive piano workshop with pianist/educator Maria Asteriadou at the end of March 2013. Pianists from mid- to University level are invited to take part. Each active participant will get two forty-five minute lessons, which, depending on the prepared repertoire, could either be combined into an hour and a half - long lesson in one day or two forty-five minute lessons on two different days. The participants are free to prepare any work/s from the standard repertoire, as well as works by lesser- known and/or living composers. The master classes will take place on:
Based on the repertoire chosen by the participants, special emphasis will be given to questions and concerns such as: how each individual’s technique can better serve music making; how we attain accuracy in score reading and yet manage to create a personal interpretation; work on memorization techniques; how we learn to listen to ourselves critically while practicing; what the difference is between ‘good ‘and ‘bad’ wrong notes; how we achieve a balance between excitement and control on stage; and other concerns.
The fee for each active participant is 50 Euros. This covers two forty-five minute lessons, as well as attendance in all additional activities including the open forum discussion and the final performance. Non-active participants are also encouraged to attend for the low fee of 15 Euros for all three days.
All performing participants are asked to be present at 10:30am on Sunday morning, for an initial meeting prior to the start of the master class. Each participant is encouraged to attend classes all three days in order to receive the maximum benefit.
Applications will be accepted in the order they are received. Those received after all spots are full will be placed on the waitlist and will receive a spot in the event that there is a cancellation.
Looking forward to working together!
