12th CO MUSEUM CONFERENCE: HEALING, RECOVERY, CHANGE, PROGRESS

Organizer: THESSALONIKI CONCERT HALL IN COLLABORATION WITH BRITISH COUNCIL, THE BENAKI MUSEUM & THE U.S. CONSULATE GENERAL IN THESSALONIKI
Although Greece is in the process of economic recovery, the cultural and creative sector continues to suffer the consequences of the last decade’s crises. Economic insecurity, social injustice, environmental destruction, fear. However, these crises and recovery periods present an opportunity for innovation – as humans, institutions, societies, democracies, economies and ecologies. What is the role of art and culture in this recovery? Is now the time to demonstrate how and why culture matters?
This year’s CoMuseum conference will focus on remedy and healing through cultural and creative outlets. It will explore how the cultural and creative sector, including museums and cultural organizations, can contribute to the recovery and development of our societies, institutions, and relationships.
The conference aspires to highlight the change and recovery which are incorporated into tgw uncertainty and weakness that characterize our lives. In this way, we will hopefully contribute to the development of a human-centered and environmentally positive post-pandemic conversation, exploring how the space occupied by art, culture and creativity is shaped both in the medium and in the long term while simultaneously examining how this conversation can be integrated into the formation of policies, strategies and planning.
