STARS OF MUSIC & CINEMA: HOMAGE TO CHARLES AZNAVOUR
IN COOPERATION WITH THE “FRIENDS OF MUSIC OF THESSALONIKI”
An evening with Charles Aznavour is the title of the programme to be presented at the Concert Hall of Thessaloniki by journalist Lefteris Kongalidis.
The programme includes extracts from concerts performed by the famous singer-composer and actor held in the last 30 years at Le Palais de Congrès de Paris, which are to be shown on the big screen. The master of ceremonies is going to present parts of his personal archives; they include some of the most famous songs of the artist and mainly songs that became favourites in Greece.
The French singer of Armenian origin has a special relationship with Thessaloniki, where his family settled when they left Turkey to escape the genocide. They home was in Harilaou district, which his parents always had fond memories of, which they shared with their son who was born a short while later in Paris.
