RECITAL FOR VIOLIN AND PIANO - Cancelled

T.C.H.
Antonis Sousamoglou and Grigoris Simadopoulos, two established soloists from the classical and jazz scene, meet at a recital that is truly demanding in terms of skill and improvisation, with pieces that balance on the precipice between the two scenes.
The place of honour at this evening is held by the golden era of interwar jazz, which influenced a series of composers - from Maurice Ravel with the renowned Blues from Sonata No 2 for violin, to Nikos Skalkottas and the Tango rhythms that infiltrated dodecaphonic Sonatina No 1 for violin and piano.
The programme could not possibly leave out George Gershwin and the skills of Jascha Heifetz from An American in Paris and the opera Porgy and Bess.
