10th CONTEMPORARY MUSIC WORKSHOP
TCH IN COOPERATION WITH THE SCHOOL OF MUSIC STUDIES, ARISTOTLE UNIVERSITY OF THESSALONIKI
This is the tenth cycle of Masterclasses, which support young composers to write, discuss and analyse their works and are also given the opportunity to hear them performed by small ensembles.
‘Although our current era is characterised by a lack of prospects in the field of music and culture, it has attempted for decades, however, to look itself in the mirror and progress without great expectations. Of course, we must not overlook its achievements due to a lack of prospects or entropy, as young creators are working hard to provide answers, ignoring the crisis of our times of and post-modernism.
Each creator is obliged, in a clear manner, to respond to the urgings of our time with personal and original compositional answers, investing not only in aesthetic questions but also in social ones, as the “sensitive” antenna of our era. Their discussions should provide corrections to our era, to help all creators find their path within the cultural vanity with a humanitarian tone and with a mature sense of the new!’
